Highlands-to-Oceans

Water not only connects us all, but our access and use determines our collective security and well-being. We look to enable watershed thinking of water connecting and integrating water decision making, particularly in regards to climate extremes and hazards to include the communities of highlands to oceans.

For early warning and early action, we are testing our Artificial- Intelligence augmented, Hydro-climatic, Multihazard, Early Warning Early Action Lead Systems in Transboundary River Basins (A.I. Hydro-MEALS). This project harnesses satellite, aerial, in-situ sensors and citizen-science data to generate early warnings on (1) water security hazards, (2) crowdsourcing, social-media apps, and (3) direct community action to motivate early action from Highlands-to-Oceans (H20).
